Documenting the struggles and triumphs of the Civil Rights Movement, material from Dave and Iola Brubeck’s 1962 album featuring Louis Armstrong lands in the Appel Room. Celebrate this 20th-century classic with new arrangements from pianist Chris Pattishall and fresh perspectives from an award-winning ensemble, including Chris Brubeck, Alphonso Horne, Shenel Johns, Vuyo Sotashe, C. Anthony Bryant, Nicole Zuraitis, Camille Thurman, Endea Owens, Jake Goldblas, and acclaimed actor Daniel J. Watts. Uniting the musical with the theatrical, The Real Jazz Ambassadors appears at Jazz at Lincoln Center in partnership with the Louis Armstrong House Museum.

Reiki Session w/ Chelsey Shannon-In my 1 hour Reiki sessions, every individual has an energy body. Reiki assists in the flow and movement of this energy. It is the connection to a higher understanding, purpose or power (however you may define this) that guides this energy. Reiki is best described as a gentle, relaxing, energetic embrace. As an Usui Reiki Master Certified Practitioner, I act as the conduit for energy to flow where it is needed most. During each session, I utilize the foundations of Usui Reiki, the Chakra system, crystals and intuition to direct the flow of energy where it is needed most in the body. In my Reiki sessions, my aim is to connect and facilitate the flow of this beautiful energy for the betterment of your greater good. I offer in person sessions and distance Reiki.
