Jade Rabbit Theatre Company-Marie Elena O’Brien
Born the Year of the Rabbit, Jade Rabbit Theatre Company was initiated as a safe space for creatives to develop not only new work, but themselves. Jade Rabbit specializes in creating opportunities for those members of our theatre community whose voices have often been excluded or marginalized based on their gender identity and/or expression, sexual orientation, ancestry, ability and age. This is a theatre company that supports not only the development of artists' new work, but the development and protection of the artists themselves as they develop that work. While the heart of Jade Rabbit is our Conscious Creatives Circle that offers regular wellness-based ‘artist’s dates’, the company also provides private playwright’s labs for writers to explore deeply personal or highly sensitive material and fosters programs that give artists the opportunity to work with local community groups and charities. The idea is to not only to produce as artists, but to prosper as artists.
