Sketch Writing Basics

In this workshop, we'll learn about the basic structure of a sketch, what the "game" of a sketch is, what separates sketches from a ten minute play, some of the different types of sketches you can write. We'll also learn about punching up, pitching, the collaborative nature of sketch writing, and what it means to gift jokes!

Kendra Augustin has been part of the sketch comedy collective, Boogiemanja, for four seasons. She's currently a writer on Scrunchie. She has taken sketch classes at UCB, and has performed and written sketches at UCB, The PIT, and Magnet Theater. When she's not doing sketch stuff she's writing short plays.

$20 for the workshop to cover the costs of our artists time, and administrative costs.
